The inhabitants of the city of Miskolc are very lucky as they live close to some of the most beautiful and highest mountains in Hungary. Due to the varied carst formations and excellent viewing points - as well as their intricate system of caves - the Bükk hills have become one of the most popular destinations for family outings. Those who wish to take a closer look at the geographical attractions can leave their cars behind and put their hiking boots on or get on their bicycles or can jump onto the ‘small train’ of Lillafüred Railways which runs through the hills. They are bound to have an unforgettable experience all year round.
